Blaine nodded. “Yeah, I haven’t either. After my mom got sick I kind of…had to grow up fast I guess.” Blaine said, feeling the need to explain as he held onto Kurt’s hand, kicking off so they could swing in time. “I remember being little and when you would swing with someone and you were at the same point, you were married.” he recalled, his curls blowing in the cool wind. “If you get colder, tell me okay?” Blaine asked, wanting to make sure he took care of his boyfriend.

“So…I know your dad is okay with you being gay and all but…uh…do you think he’ll mind me being your boyfriend?” Blaine asked hesitantly as they kept swinging, Blaine letting go only to fly off the swing, falling to the ground but quickly pulling himself back to the swing and pumping high enough to get back to Kurt’s hand.

 ”Oh, you have no idea,” Kurt said simply, pushing his feet off the ground to start swaying in unison with Blaine, swinging his legs under him and back to gain height. “Oh my god, you did that too? We always thought our little group of friends were the unique ones to think it up ourselves.” He let out a laugh, the memory causing him to remember a lot about his childhood. “I’ll be sure to,” he added with a smile.

“Well.. he’s well aware I’m gay, and knows I’ll get a boyfriend eventually, so I’m sure he won’t mind at all. Besides, he loves you, even if he doesn’t always show it all the time. He’ll be fine as long as I’m happy. Which I am, so.. no complaints,” Kurt answered, flicking his eyes over and feeling Blaine’s hand slip from his own suddenly, snickering as he saw him leap from the swing. “I was never daredevil enough to actually do that.. are you okay, Blaine?” Kurt quirked his eyebrow, assuming he was considering he hopped right back up and started swinging again.

Playgrounds and Love || Kurt

Blaine relaxed and smiled at the sight of his boyfriend. “Hey Darling.” he smiled, quickly putting the jacket over Kurt, making him warmer before handing him the daisy. “I hope this isn’t…sexist..if that’s the right word? I hope you don’t take that as something I would give a girl.” he blushed, realizing he needed to stop talking. Blaine laughed and took Kurt’s hand, leading him to the car before helping him in and getting himself in as well, driving to the park.

As they reached the grassy area with the playground, Blaine grabbed Kurt’s hand once again. “I love swings. They’re so fun.” he said quietly, swinging their arms back and forth.

 Kurt’s smile tugged as he looked at Blaine, the ends of his thin lips going up to form dimples in his cheeks. “I’ve kind of always wanted someone to give me a flower before, so thank you, actually.” He replied with a light laugh at his boyfriend’s rambling, taking the daisy from his hand and twirling it between his fingertips to make the petals spin. He followed Blaine to the car, slipping his fingers in his to twine them together, getting inside and playing with the radio the entire drive there.

The smile on his face was instant when Blaine took his hand again, feeling unusually happy flutters in his stomach at the gesture. “I love them too, I don’t think I’ve even been on one since I was little,” he admitted with a chuckle, waltzing over to the swings and perching in one of them, his hand still held to Blaine’s.

Biting his lip as he pulled a sweater over his head and grabbed the jacket for Kurt, Blaine trembled nervously, his mind racing. He and Kurt were dating. Dating. This was new for both of them. Hopefully he wouldn’t screw it up. Locking his front door after making sure he had gum, his wallet, and phone, Blaine made his way to his black Ford Focus, putting on the radio lowly so it wouldn’t be overly awkward for the first few minutes upon Kurt’s arrival.

True to his word, Blaine rung Kurt’s doorbell 10 minutes later, a small white daisy in his hand from his garden behind his house. Blaine messed with his gray beanie, adjusting it slightly. Oh god. What if Kurt didn’t answer the door? What if it was Carole? Or worse. Burt. Blaine had a feeling Burt didn’t like him even being friends with Kurt. What would happen when he found out they were dating? Swallowing his fears, he straightened up slightly as the door opened.

(Blaine’s Outfit)

Kurt was almost positive being ready by the time Blaine got here was an impossible feat, but trying was the best he could do. Maybe it took him forever to search for the right outfit.. maybe he changed about ten or so times. He managed to find something suitable for the occasion, settling on a smokey grey, loose-fit shirt and a pair of light blue jeans. Slipping his feet in some boots and fixing his hair, Kurt grabbed his bag and allowed it to drape on his shoulder, stuffing his keys and his cell phone in it before shutting the flap. Now, to tell his dad where he was going. This would be fun.

There was no way he was going to tell him he was going to see his boyfriend, which was too new for him to even comprehend at the moment. Walking down the steps, Kurt ran past the kitchen door, popping his head around to see his dad and Carole cooking. “I’m going to the park, be back lat—” He was interrupted by the chime of the doorbell, and he flashed his dad a bright smile. “I got it! No, I got the door, I gotta go— it’s my ride. Okay, love you, bye!” Before a word of replies could come, Kurt grinned and ran to the front door, swinging it open and dashing out, shutting it behind him. “Well hey,” he finally said with an even brighter smile than before, his cheeks flushing. Only.. it had nothing to do with the cold weather, despite the fact that he could literally see his breaths fog up in front of him in the air.
